Alternatively, placing them in smaller tank sizes also allow the tops of the stones to stick out above the surface allowing for emersed aquatic or terrestrial plant growth.
Ohko Stone, also commonly known as Dragon Stone, is an extremely popular hardscape choice in the planted aquarium hobby that is easily recognized by its unique texture resembling dragon scales. Along with its porous texture, Dragon Stone comes in a range of brown to orange and golden yellow tones making it contrast well against bright green aquarium plants. Dragon Stone is also lightweight, making it easy to rearrange and perfect for stacking or creating aquascapes with intricate detail. Its numerous nooks and small craters are great for anchoring aquatic plants and moss species while also providing a safe haven for sensitive or skittish fish and shrimp. Dragon Stone's natural shape is typically favorable amongst aquascapers but can be easily broken down into smaller pieces to suit a wide range of aquarium tanks and applications.
