Cryptocoryne Florida Sunset, commonly referred to as a water trumpet, is a small to medium sized Cryptocoryne plant. This particular variation is a hybrid of Cryptocoryne Wendtii with highly variable pattern and color tone. Like most Cryptocoryne plants, Florida Sunset is primarily green but has the potential to produce cream, pink and golden hues depending on overall care and tank conditions. Like other varieties of Cryptocoryne, final size, color and overall form are heavily influenced by the plant's environment in which the plant is kept. This aquarium plant works well in low tech planted aquariums or in areas of a planted tank that are shaded by hardscape or light loving aquarium plant species. Like most Cryptocoryne species, Cryptocoryne Florida Sunset does not prefer to be moved once planted so being mindful of this will go a long way in preventing Crypt melt. Cryptocoryne plants are generally easy to maintain once established in a planted aquarium and will grow at a steady pace. While it isn't required, most aquarium plants will enjoy and experience much better growth in a planted tank that is fully established and is provided with CO2 injection, quality planted aquarium soil, and quality lighting.
