Unlike other similar floating aquatic plants, Salvinia Natans does not have long roots that reach into the water. In addition, this Salvina can eventually grow into thick mats that will cover the entire top of an aquarium and block out light from above. Just like other aquarium and pond floating plants, this aids in the prevention of algae growth.
