Anubias Barteri Butterfly is one of the many forms available in the Anubias family. Loved for its dark green color and large, broad leaves, Anubias Butterfly is a perfect introduction to keeping live aquarium plants. Anubias are known for being another bulletproof choice and will tolerate a wide range of aquarium conditions and water parameters. Anubias Butterfly is an epiphytic plant, meaning it sprouts leaves from its rhizome and can grow attached to aquarium hardscape such as aquarium driftwood or in the crevices between stone hardscape layouts. Anubias can also grow marginally and will thrive above water in vivarium, terrarium, and paludarium setups as long as sufficient humidity is provided to prevent the plant from drying out. Anubias are flowering species and will bloom from time to time. With many different forms, shapes, and sizes available, Anubias plants are a classic staple in the planted aquarium hobby!

 

While it isn't required, most aquarium plants, including Anubias Butterfly, will enjoy and experience much better growth in a planted tank that is fully established and is provided with CO2 injection, quality planted aquarium soil, and quality lighting.
