Boiling aquarium driftwood will speed up waterlogging and the release of tannins!
Madra Wood is a new type of aquarium driftwood that resembles Malaysian Driftwood, featuring a warm brown color with intricate textures, knots, and crevices. It pairs beautifully with epiphytic aquatic plants like Anubias, Bucephalandra, and aquatic ferns such as Java Fern. Available in various sizes, Madra Wood can be used on its own or atop stones to create unique aquascape layouts. Beyond aesthetics, aquarium driftwood like Madra Wood offers benefits such as providing shelter and softening water, creating natural conditions favored by aquatic plants and tropical critters.
Measurement Range: Provided measurements are rough estimates. This driftwood is 100% natural, so dimensions may vary by a few inches. Please use them as general guidelines.
SIZE | DIMENSIONS |
---|---|
SMALL | 5-12” ~ Nano, long and standard tanks. |
MEDIUM | 13-16” ~ Standard aquariums and larger. Tanks with protruding pieces. |
LARGE | 17-25”+ ~ Standard aquariums and larger. Tanks with protruding pieces. |
Like all aquarium driftwood, Madra Driftwood is very buoyant and prone to floating. We encourage allowing it to soak thoroughly or boiling the pieces to ensure they are fully waterlogged before designing and filling a planted aquarium tank.
TIP: Tannins leeched from wood will provide a natural tint to water, but will gradually dissipate based on the frequency of water changes.
