Mountain Stone is a newer type of aquarium hardscape. This aquascaping rock features a porous surface, distinct shape and varying color tones all in one. Mountain Stone's gritty texture offers good grip and is extremely porous, making it the perfect foundation for attaching aquatic mosses or epiphytic aquarium plants such as Anubias and Bucephalandra. Its distinct jagged form allows cliff-style aquascape layouts to be created with ease as these aquarium stones are stackable and easy to piece together without sacrificing structural integrity.

Along with Mountain Stone's porous surface comes low density. Mountain Stone is an extremely lightweight aquascaping stone when compared to more dense choices such as , Hakkai Stone, and more. The best feature of this aquascaping stone is that it's lightweight and not as dense as others. Therefore, stacking is safe and easy. In addition, a larger quantity of stone can be expected due to this stone's density without sacrificing quality and character.
