Lava Rock is often overlooked in the planted aquarium hobby as it was once very widely used. However, we recently fell in love with this aquascaping stone once again due to its porous texture. Aquatic mosses such as Christmas Moss, Mini Christmas Moss, Peacock Moss and Spiky Moss will attach itself readily to Lava Rock. Two larger stones were chosen for this layout along with a few smaller stones for added depth in this small cube tank. We recommend green plants to contrast the red brick coloration. Our suggested plant list would include a grass-like plant such as Utricularia Graminifolia or Eleocharis Parvulus Mini accompanied by Mini Pellia or Mini Christmas moss spread sparingly on the stones.
